Invisible Maps

Since coming to live in the desert I've had an increasing interest in this hidden map. The Great Artesian Basin (GAB) that lies beneath Australia, is one of the largest and deepest in the world and we rely on this source of water to sustain us. It covers 22% of the land mass in Australia (http://www.gabcc.org.au/). This water table makes a hidden map, lying under the ground and sustaining life on the surface. The water temperatures in this area are also important in geothermal ecology. This hidden map is so important and understood by the indigenous peoples and only more recently have detailed maps been created like the one above.
