Peace and…

I’ve been reading and being inspired by Kevin’s blog for years and he signs off each post thoughtfully with Peace (…). I work as the bowerbird, collecting the 30 most recent post endings and collated them as a poem. I do this as a means of honouring the writer and as an exercise of ‘troubling the text’ (Manifesto of teaching online, Bayne, S et al 2016). Looking at the text in a different way and bringing new meanings to the surface. Each line comes from a post on Kevin’s blog in order they are published.

Peace and poems

and change
mourning for what Musk has done
questions to ponder
winter
stardust
and books
poems
in short
words in little frames.

Peace and frames
the end of Autumn
and listening
and networks
listening in
rock and roll
and poses

Write Out
and walking the world
through art
and tossing it
and plantings
in the fall
outside, in
and postcards
and fog
and music.

Peace in the middle of seasonal change
on the path
in wooded history
and light
and noticing
listening
and saving it
and falling
play it
off stage.

  2. So lovely, Wendy! I didn't know what a bowerbird was, so had to look it up.
