Peeling - the life of bark

Different trees

showing bark markings

tattoos of seasons

scattered on the ground

peeling back

revealing new skin

we are the observer

watching the colours

change from brown to grey

the life of bark

hanging sculptures

botany haute couture

worn for a season

then discarded

moving into mulch

protection for the smaller

species - moisture holding

I carry a selection, carefully,

into my office

    1. Thanks for Deadwood poem. Nice riffing.
Bark behaves the same in every hemisphere I think.
