turn golden in the late summer sun
signs of the changing seasons
in this unchanging landscape the golden ranges
stay the same – solid and everlasting

 

Gumtrees keep their olive green dress
while water ponds are temporary
changing and quickly evaporating
dissappearing as they soak into the vast
water table below

Seed pods burst
winds scatter their load
to find new ground
or feed for birds
