A chasm between art and reality
From structure to the unexplainable beauty of nature
From man made to more-than-human spaces
The orange glow not quite reaching down the hallway
Yet lighting up the clouds from below
The uplights and downlights
Creating static shadow shapes
The diminishing grandeur of the day
A heartbeat and the colour changes
The annoying pattern of dark carpet squares
A faulty facsimile of randomness in nature
The closed doors and enclosed space
To infinite blue and saltwater edges
And yet all I had to do was walk the hallway
Lift the lens and pause, a silent gift given
